The luxury brand continues to commemorate the creative director who ushered in a new era for Louis Vuitton by presenting the second part of Virgil Abloh’s Pre-Fall 2022 collection.

The visionary’s philosophy and distinctive design codes are once again represented in this capsule show set against the architectural landscape of Le Corbusier in Lyon. Pieces for the Pre-Fall 2022 season once again fuse his now timeless narrative between street and luxury inspired by workwear and streetwear.

“My philosophy is very much based on the clothes that people actually wear,” said Virgil Abloh. “What I do is an analysis of a generation: what do people buy and why do they wear it? That question naturally creates an equal interest in tradition as it does in changing it. But it’s also about challenging myself and exploring different terrain. That’s creative freedom.

Breaking down the capsule, we can see tailored trousers take on voluminous shapes, paired with blouses for a more relaxed aesthetic. Wool varsity jackets with monogrammed leather sleeves, white leather and sheepskin bombers, leather-paneled bikers, and quilted jackets in the house’s signature floral print cover elevate the outfits to cult status.

Contemporary, fluid tailoring sets the tone for the rest of the collection, echoing Abloh’s use of oversized cuts and lightweight materials. Strap-laden LV Trainer shoes and an assortment of accessories, such as striped knit caps, round off this collection for exploring spring in style.

The second chapter of Virgil Abloh’s Pre-Fall 2022 menswear collection will be available in shops and online from March 2022.
