The COMME des GARÇONS HOMME PLUS “The Existence of Flowers” Spring/Summer 2022 Tokyo show was highlighted by the vision of Rei Kawakubo. However, what we couldn’t overlook from the show was the collaboration she presented with Nike that finally sees the light of day.
First released in 1999, the Nike Air Max Sunder is built as one of the most curious Swoosh designs. The shoe debuted with a lycra spandex upper and an additional internal adjustment system in the heel for increased comfort levels. These details have been the inspiration for the new collaboration between Nike Air Max Sunder SP and CDG.
For the new silhouette, CDG opted for an upper made from premium neoprene and nubuck. The retro “AIR” branding is embroidered on the zipped tongue, similar to a sock. In addition, there is a small Nike Swoosh emblem embedded in the nylon upper. The model comes in different combinations: “White/Black”, “Triple White” and “Triple Black”.
The COMME des GARÇONS HOMME PLUS x Nike Air Max Sunder SP will arrive at Dover Street Market on July 21 at 11 a.m. BST. Online and in-store registration is open on the DSM website.
