Gucci Off The Grid designs the world we need

Applying the Italian designer’s genius to a sustainable collection offers a hopeful horizon for Gucci after the COVID19 tragedy.

The virtuosity that Alessandro Michele displays in every collection he presents takes on a new dimension. Applying the Italian designer’s genius to a sustainable collection offers a hopeful horizon for Gucci after the COVID19 tragedy. The Florentines draws us a smile with their latest proposal.

GUCCI OFF THE GRID

When Alessandro Michele (@alessandro_michele) presents new products, professionals and aficionados turn around so as not to miss a single detail. On this occasion, it also includes an ecological twist that makes it even more interesting. Gucci Off The Grid is the first collection of Gucci Circular Lines, whose aim is none other than to show the support for circular production by the Italian company.

All parts are made from recycled materials. Among the most prominent are some organic, bio-based and sustainably sourced, including ECONYL®, a regenerated nylon made from nylon scraps and pre- and post-consumer waste.

“This collection is the result of teamwork; everyone has contributed something. The same as in the campaign, which conveys the idea of dialogue between a group of people who are building something new. I thought we could build a tree house, all together, like children playing in the park. Because we all need to build that house and discover that our planet exists, even in those places where it seems to have disappeared or is far away,” says Alessandro Michele.

Off The Grid aims to establish a dialogue between the sophistication of Gucci and the majesty of nature. This desire to live in harmony with the environment inspires a campaign full of life and in which the spirit of unity is the protagonist of the hand of Jane Fonda, Lil NasX, King Princess, Miyayi and David de Rotschild. The construction of a modest treehouse focuses the action. Solidarity and respect for the work of others nurtures this campaign in which Gucci embraces diversity. No matter if LA cement lurks in your project, the ambition to complete your oasis is above all else. The metaphor is ideal and captures the message of the transalpine house masterfully.

This campaign is launched today alongside the already famous Gucci artwalls. On this occasion, they will dress up enclaves like the Milanese square of Largo la Foppa, in the district of Corso Garibaldi; a few meters from the famous Brick Lane in East London; Fengsheng Li, in the district of Jingan (Shanghai). Later, it will reach Lafayette Street in New York’s SoHo district, D’Aguilar Street in Hong Kong’s Lan Kwai Fong district, and Yongkang Street in the Da’an (Taipei) district.

The Off The Grid selection offers a wide selection of bags, accessories and backpacks made in ECONYL, bucket hats, sneakers, windproof, caps… Black, orange and a mustard tone colour these unique pieces of the Florentines.

Alessandro Michele shows again why he is one of the most needed designers in the industry. His creative capacity and social conscience make him a fundamental figure in the new direction that is emerging in the world of fashion.

Off The Grid. On The Needs.
