CLOT Air Jordan 14 low “terracotta”>>> Chinese essence

CLOT and Nike are teaming up again to release a new collaboration, this time it will be an Air Jordan 14. In this upcoming release Edison Chen has brought his own oriental touch to the Jumpman’s silhouette.

CLOT is not just a label, it is a movement.

The clothing brand was born in 2003 in Hong Kong with the mission to be the bridge that unites East and West through carefully designed garments and products.

Founded by Edison Chen and Kevin Poon, the firm has collaborated with brands such as Nike, visvim, Coca-Cola, Stüssy, Medicom Toy and many more. The firm continues to solidify its international presence with runway shows at New York and Paris Fashion Week.

Just like the Air Jordan 13 Low (2018), the Air Jordan 14 Low is equipped with a Terracotta Warrior armor plate on the upper.

The dots that appear on the side panels, go in twos and threes, as a nod to Michael Jordan’s 23.

Another curiosity is that the tongue of the shoe pretends to imitate a traditional Chinese scroll. The upper features the CLOT and Jordan logos, one on each foot.

The traditional Jordan 14 badges are usually placed on the side panels of the shoe, but this time they lack the usual Jumpman logos.

Another homage to Chinese heritage appears on the heel of the sneaker, which is decorated with a traditional Chinese knot and a coin. “如意 吉祥” is the message on the coin and with the red knot they represent prosperity and happiness.

According to an official press release, the CLOT x Air Jordan 14 Low “Terracotta” is: “an ode to Chinese history, timelessness and Jordan’s love of the game.” The collaboration will be released on February 8, 2021.
