Reebok launches second Mighty Morphin Power Rangers collection

Today Reebok, in collaboration with Hasbro, presents its second Reebok x Power Rangers collection. This line comes on the heels of the first launch held in June 2021 and inspired by the original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers TV series from the 90s.

The first collection was dedicated to some of the most popular Mighty Morphin characters from the original Power Rangers series. In contrast, this new capsule focuses on some of the most famous villains featured in the Mighty Morphin Power series. Drawing inspiration from characters such as Rita Repulsa, Lord Zedd and Rito Revolto, this collection brings to life some of the most notable Power Rangers adversaries.

Among the footwear models in this new line, the following stand out:

Instapump Fury Rita Repulsa – A sneaker that comes loaded with all of Rita Repulsa’s signature details, like an icon on the Pump button that represents Rita‘s cane and tongue bands reminiscent of her headband. The character’s influence can even be seen in the materials, such as the hair on the heel that evokes her famous hat.
Hurrikaze II Low Rito Revolto – The upper of this Hurrikaze II Low quickly brings to mind the character of Rito Revolto, as its design depicts the character’s skeleton, while the camouflage-coloured suede appliqué in the midfoot is reminiscent of his outfit. Further proof that this shoe is tailor-made for the villains of the series is that the tongue features the inscription “Evil Space Alien” on the right side and the “Danger Ranger” skull and crossbones on the left side.
Answer IV Lord Zedd – The evil Lord Zedd takes over this silhouette which comes with a red, wavy top reminiscent of his body; silver overlays that nod to his armour and a blue tube along the side that mimics the tubes that run through his body. On the other hand, the silhouette has been guarded by replacing Allen Iverson‘s face with Lord Zedd‘s face.

In addition to all these details, each model comes with an insole that highlights moments or traits characteristic of each character the sneaker is inspired by. For example, the Answer IV Lord Zedd insole includes images of the ingredients of the love potion that Rita Repulsa created to make Lord Zedd fall in love. In addition, each model comes in an exclusive custom box with details of each character, from the Instapump Fury Rita Repulsa “Rita’s Moon Dumpster” box to the Lord Zedd box inspired by the Angel Grove Community Centre.

The collection is completed with five items of clothing: a sweatshirt, a long-sleeved T-shirt and three short-sleeved T-shirts. The sweatshirt is inspired by the Megazord transformation and features a hand-drawn emblem on the back. The long-sleeved T-shirt depicts the Green Ranger and features several of the character’s signature details, from his alias, Thomas “Tommy” Oliver, to his famous “Dragon Dagger”. Finally, all three t-shirts feature graphics in a retro arcade-inspired style and depict both the heroes and villains of the franchise.
