‘Amy Winehouse – Back to Black‘ is the title of the new documentary about the queen of soul who died in 2011. The film will focus on the creative process of her best album and it confirms that we still have a lot of Amy to know (and venerate).
Three years ago ‘Amy’reached the screens, a documentary about the personal life of the singer directed by Asif Kapadia. The film, which crudely showed Amy’s decline, her psychological problems and her drugs and alcohol abuses, proved to be a success and it received the Oscar for Best Long Documentary in 2015.
This time, the new film will focus more on his musical work, specifically in the conception of the album Back to Black(2006), which contains some of Amy Winehouse’s most famous songs (‘You know I’m not good,’ Love is a losing game ‘or’ Tears dry on their own ‘.) and which led her to international fame.
It is a compilation of unpublished images, concerts, making ofand interviews with the producers Mark Ronson and Salaam Remi, with whom the artist maintained a close relationship and produced some of her songs. The documentary also presents an exclusive private concert that Amy Winehouse offered in February 2008 at Riverside Studios in West London, just before winning five Grammy awards, including one for ‘Rehab’.
