Aimé Leon Dore x New Balance comes back for spring

Teddy Santis has unveiled what looks like the result of the upcoming Aimé Leon Dore x New Balance collaboration. A new version of the 550 ratifies the next installment of the successful collaboration, as we have seen before, between the two brands.

In a very subtle way, we could already see a sneak peak of the upcoming collaboration in Aimé Leon Dore’s lookbook for his SS21 “The World’s Borough” collection. But it wasn’t until a few days ago that we were able to see the sneaker in its entirety on Santis’ instagram (@teddysantis). This version of the shoe has a much more vintage look than the previous ones.

The sneaker features a white leather upper part with dark green accents, as can be found on the ankle collar, tongue and heel. The “N” appears in a cream to lemon color with green trim. In keeping with that vintage tone, the midsole of the shoe is treated with an aged look and features touches of the same colors as the rest of the model.

The truth is that the  brand from Queens has not stopped surprising us for a couple of years. Let’s remember how just a year ago, together with New Balance, it unveiled a collection for Spring-Summer 2020 in which they bet on Senior models. Likewise, Aimé Leon Dore has been responsible for the successful reintroduction of the P550 basketball Oxfords. A shoe that has been dormant since the 1980s has definitely risen from the ashes.

At the moment it is not known how and when this new volume of the 550 will be released, but the shoe is guaranteed to be a hit again. In the meantime, stay tuned for sneaker news and much more at highxtar.com.
