The Belgian-born fashion designer and member of the “Antwerp Six”, Walter Van Beirendonck, has been one of the last to present his latest Spring/Summer 2022 proposal, which has had some clear protagonists. Can you guess which ones? Neon colours.
Named “Neon Shadow”, WvB speaks through this collection about subcultures and how they are being exterminated over time. But not only that, this collection also becomes a call to action to be ourselves and explore other subcultures, creative realms and fulfil our wildest dreams. For this and many other reasons, the creator wants us to join his “neon shadow”.
Full of colour, punk hues and representing a world that rebels against conformity, Walter’s Spring/Summer 22 collection is full of the optimism we all need today. But not only that, it is also full of bold silhouettes and designs that will not go unnoticed. As for the garments in this line, we have to highlight the bell-bottom trouser suits, or shorts, with retro aesthetics in orange, pink or green, the combined bomber jackets with the brand’s logo, or the blazers and trousers with fun prints. Last but not least, we can’t forget the harem trousers, made of a material similar to a rubbish bag, and the black shoes with lightning bolts.
