Instagram’s favourite Danish brand GANNI has unveiled its first collaboration with New Balance, updating the iconic 2002R trainer.

The pair have joined forces to update the timeless 2002R model in a sustainable way. That’s why the new silhouette from GANNI and New Balance is made from more than 50% recycled materials. In addition, the shoe is inspired by the casual and fun approach that belongs to the Danish aesthetic.

GANNI creative director Ditte Reffstrup said: “The 2002R really fits the Copenhagen way of dressing: we are always cycling and running from place to place. This shoe is the perfect combination of functionality and fashion. It’s a great honour to put a GANNI touch on such an iconic shoe and we are very excited to be able to create it with so much innovation and recycled materials”. 

The trainer arrives in two colour combinations, a muted neutral tone combined with vibrant green, while the other version arrives in light grey with rainbow detailing. Both styles feature the GANNI logo on each side of the sneaker, designed exclusively for the occasion.

 

The model will be launched on 13 April and will be available both in the GANNI online shop and on the New Balance website, as well as in physical shops.
