MBFWM left us thirsty for more

After the irruption of David Delfín, we can enjoy every year a bunch of new faces and ideals that make us believe more and more in the potential of our national fashion scene.

For many many years, Madrid’s Fashion Week was a restricted area dedicated to all those all-time designers that initiated Spain’s fashion industry, leaving a very reduced space to new creative minds. After the irruption of David Delfín, we can enjoy every year a bunch of new faces and ideals that make us believe more and more in the potential of our national fashion scene.

Once the last Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Madrid (@mbfwmadridchapter is finished, we can say without a doubt that the Spanish talents are starting to take over as we always wished. If previously to the shows we pointed at  María Simun, Mans (@mansconceptmenswear), Dominnico (@dominnico) and Christian Simmon (@christiansimmon) as the biggest agitators of this edition, we should also add the proposals by Juan Vidal (@mrjuanvidal), as well as highlighting the not-surprising anymore outbreak from Shoop out of the official program. In the absences episode, the most remarkable were María Ke Fisherman (@mariakefisherman) and Miguel Becer’s (@miguelbecer) ManéMané (@manemanestudio). Please come back.

The new generations are finally getting the international attention that those walking with no fuss year after year after year their designs could never have imagined. The trend derived from social media and the online universe helped these new creators to conquer the most challenging critiques beyond our borders. Designers like Palomo Spain that made Paris his or Carlota Barrera established in London like she were from there are a clear sign of how this new batch of designers have a global mindset. Luckily its been a while since our country’s fashion was thought to satisfy the Spanish old ladies from the 60s and evolved into this desire to dress the most fashion-avid generation ever.

Still a lot of things to improve in Madrid but, no doubt that, in a creative level, we’re getting a bit closer every year of having the credit the Spanish fashion industry needs to be among the most important ones worldwide.

From Madrid to heaven.
