Top fashion trends we found at FW21

Fall/Winter 2021 runway has already come to an end, leaving us with the FW21 trends best highlights. Like every year, we enjoyed watching designers experiment with fabrics, shapes and colors, especially now in a situation where all brands have had to reinvent the runway due to COVID.

From exaggerated platforms to scarves and balaclavas, read on for our top 5 FW21 trends.

Platforms to the highest level

If there is one thing that has been present on the runway, those are the platform shoes. From the impossible ones by Schiaparelli to the split sole versions by Prada and Simone Rocha, we could find that new drip in this shoes. Versace paied homage to 70s glam rock with its platforms. Finally, Matthew Williams en Givenchy opts for a hoof-shaped one, similar to McQueen’s iconic ‘armadillo’ boots. parecida a las icónicas botas ‘armadillo’ de McQueen.

Geometry

Prada opts for geometry as a general tonic of FW21: shoes, bags, and garments appear with geometric prints. Donatella Versace joins the trend doing a version of what it seems a new logo for Versace: a key print all over the garment. Maxi bags(again)

When it seemed that every bag on the planet was going to be in the image and likeness of “Le Chiquito”, new proposals arrive to show us that the tables have to be turned again. Alyx and Khaite have gone for it, and Prada has joined this two with a version of its Cleo bag in a much larger format. 

Astronaut boots to the snow

The truth is that it is not surprising that this trend has been seen this fashion week. Snow boots have been a must during all winter, and it’s no wonder that brands have incorporated it into their proposals for next Fall/Winter. The furry options come from names like Miu Miu or Chanel while in Ottolinger and Chloé or Dolce and Gabanna we find the quilted version of the boot.

Head well covered

Thelma and Louise scarf, babushka or balaclava, which is your favorite option? For Mathew Williams it is clear that balaclava, because both Givenchy and Alyx have include them in the show. Also, many brands like Versace or Dior have opted for the “Thelma and Louise” scarf . Others like Max Mara have made a kind of fusion between both worlds too, and hey… it seems to work! The most outstanding is Paco Rabanne’s babushka scarf option.
