After Virgil Abloh received a barrage of criticism for his alleged plagiarism of Belgian designer Walter Van Beirendonck, Kanye West has come forward to defend him.
We all know that. When Kanye has a problem instead of solving it, he tweets it. This time it was no less. When he saw the amount of criticism his friend Virgil was receiving after the presentation of the first part of the Louis Vuitton SS21 show, he didn’t hesitate to enter the app to post what he thought about it.
It is worth noting that on this occasion, not only did Diet Prada denounce the similarities between the garments, but Walter Van Beirendonck himself became the fashion police. Together they accused Virgil of stealing the patterns and designs of his AW16 fantasy.
“Virgil can do whatever he wants. Do you know how hard it’s been for us to be recognized? Coming from Chicago?” Kanye wrote.
The rapper also posted on Twitter- the one thing he doesn’t have an Instagram account- the iconic photo of him with Abloh hugging each other at the end of his first Louis Vuitton show in 2018 with the title “Hello diet Prada hello Walter… come and get us!!!
