Amazon is expanding its service offering with the launch of Amazon Salon, a hairdressing salon powered by augmented reality technology. The establishment, located in the London neighborhood of Spitalfields, will allow customers to try any hairstyle before making any decision.
The 1,500-square-foot experiential space Amazon has opened on Brushfield Street will offer augmented reality hair consultations through its augmented reality technology. Thanks to this, customers will be able to try on various haircuts or hair colors before those changes become a reality. In addition, through its point-and-learn system, salon visitors will be able to get more information about the salon’s products by scanning a QR code with their phone.
For the time being, Amazon Salon will only serve its employees. Over the next few weeks, the public will be able to access the salon to make reservations. In addition, this new opening comes after launching Amazon’s professional beauty store on its UK website, so it seems that the tech giant has its eye on the UK.
Would you take an appointment at this new salon? The truth is that it would save us a lot of hassle….
